I can't believe she was just here and for the first time Gabi said her name, over and over again. Your Mom was so happy Gabi finally could say it. Bella had just spent the night with you both and when I had to sit her down to tell her, she cried and said, "Maria was always nice to me and always let me go to her house when things got to be too much and who else will let me do that?" I don't even know how to explain the enormity of the loss nor the senselessness to her. We just miss her. What I will always remember most about your Mom is her contagious laugh and generous spirit and what an AMAZING mother she was to you. Just that day she came to discuss a concern she had for you - she never wanted anyone negative around you. She always talked about how wonderful you were and how much she wanted for you. And, of course, we talked about your bball skills. I know she is here with us, watching over all of us - but most of all you. I know you will stay on the path to your dream. You always made a special point to see me first when you came to Moreno Valley...Which made my day. I admired the way you were there for Keneth and it made me look up to you even more. I was so proud of you with the way you were there for him through all his schooling and basketball games. You kept me involved with everything he did just to share how proud you were as a mom. Maria I am going to miss you, you were a huge part of my life than most people would know, but you knew. I will miss your laugh, your smile,and the joy we had when we were together, but most of I am going to miss you; My first love.
